My name is Ray and I’m an Award winning wedding photographer. I’m originally from Newcastle Upon Tyne, however, I have lived in County Durham since 1998 and love it.
My style is truly ingrained in photojournalism, capturing moments in time to portray the story whilst drawing inspiration from the beauty of fine-art photography. I love being a great photographer yet also a story teller and visual artist creating distinctive and dramatic imagery.
As a multiple award winning wedding photographer, I consistently create artistic imagery my couples will love. I do this by experimenting with new techniques and blend various photography styles to challenge my vision and tell exciting stories.

Such a lovely couple. Hannah & Rob trusted me to create a few special images from their big day and when there is a giant chandelier - it would be rude not to use it.
One of my most favourite images to date. Simple, elegant and beautiful. The dress really helps to deliver the impact in this photo. One key light camera right.
After talking with Ross and Charlotte before the wedding I suggested Confetti Canons for the 1st dance and they worked out he would lift her up as the signal to fire. Worked like a charm.
This shot was taking in the main lobby of the hotel surrounded by lots of people at the bar and photo booth. I had the flash quite close to them with grids to eliminate any light spill. Used the camera settings to crush all the light from the scene so the only light picked up were the bright chandelier and the strip light around the ceiling. Came out great.
This photo was captured at a quirky venue in Newcastle. They have their own Photo Booth on-site and as it was a rainy day I suggested we take advantage of the booth. I placed the couple inside with the groom holding my flash which had a red gel and a sphere diffusor on it to spread the light omnidirectional. The red worked perfectly with the red of the Photo Booth text above. I then asked them to kiss slowly so I could grab the shot just before their lips met.
Another rainy day wedding. I took the couple outside just before sunset and completed their couple portraits. For this shot, I placed y AD200 flash about 5-7m behind them with a Grid and Sphere. Backlighting the couple but also backlights the rain and freezes it.
Emily and Rich are amazing. Such a beautiful couple. During our pre-wedding meeting, I suggested Confetti Canons for the 1st dance. So I set my flashes for a backlit scenario to catch the confetti/glitter etc firing out of them.
Just before Sophie and Joe came out of the church I said to them, these exit shots are all about the expression so give me something energetic and fun like a fist pump or something similar. I think they killed it.
I brought a few smoke bombs with me to Sophie and Joe's wedding and before the reception started we heading out onto the cathedral green for some fun. Just before the bombs were exhausted I said to everyone run at me and jump in the air. They had so much fun.
Captured during sunset in the Lake District. Latrig overlooking Keswick and Derwentwater. We were the only ones up there with a full photography setup. I got the shot and was even turned into large wall art.
